Library Facts
As National Library Week draws closer, here are some library facts for you:
Americans spend more than twice as much on salty snacks as they do on public libraries.
Americans spend almost 10 times more in home video games than they do on school library materials for their children.
In spite of this, there are more than 16,000 public libraries in the United States. We outnumber McDonalds. Woohoo!

PAWS Puppies
Hi again. Did any of you hear the news lately about the puppy mill that was shut down in Peotone, IL? Almost 50 dogs were found in horrible conditions... and why am I telling you this? Well, PAWS right here in Tinley Park is generously taking care of all these animals and finding homes for them and now more that ever, needs our help. Currently, there are over 70 dogs at their facility! Since we are still collecting donations for them, you can really make a difference on March 11 at the YAC meeting and bring in some much needed items. Here is a short version of the list we handed out at our YAC meeting: dog food (only Science Diet or Pedigree brands), cat food (Purina, Royal Canin, and SophistaCat brands), all kinds of cleaning supplies, office supplies, cage supplies (blankets, cat litter), and toys (Kong rubber chew type). Lock-In Reminder
Don't forget to turn in your lock-in sheets! They are due on Tuesday, January 15, no exceptions!!!! That is the day of the YAC meeting, which is very convenient for everyone. That night we will also do food sign-ups for the lock-in. If you aren't going to be at the meeting, you can turn your slip in ahead of time. We will assign you a food to bring and let you know what that is. Thank you!
