Good News

Hugo Cabret, the live-action 3-D movie directed by Martin Scorcese and currently shooting in London, has added Emily Mortimer (Shutter Island) and Michael Stuhlbarg (A Serious Man) to the cast that includes Jude Law, Ben Kingsley and Sacha Baron Cohen, according to TheWrap. Asa Butterfield (The Boy in the Striped Pajamas) plays Hugo. Based on the Caldecott award winning The invention of Hugo Cabret, by Brian Selznick (Scholastic, 2007), the movie is currently scheduled to open Dec. 9, 2011.

Summer Reading Reminder

Only three weeks of summer reading left! Don't forget to come back and check in so that you can get those prizes you've earned! Grand prizes will be awarded on August 7 at the Teen Summer Reading party, so make sure to come in before then.

Don't forget YAC!

July 20 at 6:00 p.m. there is a meeting of the Youth Advisory Council (YAC). YAC meets once each month to discuss and plan what teens do at the library. This month we will celebrate graduating seniors. Active members of YAC (those who attend 3 or more meetings in a year) are eligible for the Lock-Ins, which are held in the summer and winter. Anyone in grades 6-12 is welcome to join. If you've never been, come to tomorrow night's meeting and check it out!
