YAC election

Just to remind you all that the next YAC meeting (on 9/15) will also be the YAC election. If you are thinking about running for office, please keep the following rules in mind:
- Officers are nominated and seconded by another YAC member in order to be on the ballot.
- Officers are elected by the highest amount of votes.
- The term of each officer is one year.
-Nominees should be in returning YAC members in High School

One rule has been changed. You do not need to be present in order to be elected. However, you do have to have sent someone to nominate you in your absence. That means you can't nominate someone who didn't come to the meeting if that person does not know that you are nominating them.

All officers must try to come to every meeting. Officers can only miss three meetings or their position will be reassigned.

Officers and Their Duties
President:
- Will mediate every YAC meeting using the agenda provided by the librarian.
- Will maintain order at each meeting.
- Will serve as a positive example to other members by participating in YAC events.
Vice President:
- Will act as president if the president is absent.
- Will help the president maintain order at the meetings.
- Will serve as a positive example to other members by participating in YAC events.
Secretary:
- Will take minutes at every meeting and read the minutes from the previous meeting.
- Will serve as a positive example to other members by participating in YAC events.
Special Events Coordinator:
- Will help coordinate and brainstorm about special YAC events (i.e. Field Trips and Lock-Ins.) and present them at the meetings for discussion.
- Will serve as a positive example to other members by participating in YAC events.

Pillow

Someone forgot their pillow at the summer lock-in. It currently resides as my desk. I will keep it here until the day after the first YAC meeting. Then I will throw it away, case and all. Please let me know if it is yours by describing some of its defining characteristics. Thank you!

New Newts

If you haven't yet, please come in to meet our new friends, the newts. Here you see Rupert, our largest newt. We also have Iggy and Nigel, who are quite a bit thinner. You can tell them apart because Iggy has an I on his tummy. They are REALLY cool, though.
